Your privacy is our mission. Most files are converted right in your browser and never leave your device. Only large files, or formats a browser cannot process, are sent to our server over an encrypted connection — they are never stored, never shared, and deleted as soon as your download is ready.

How Big a File Can I Convert?

Up to 10 GB per file, free and without an account. Most online converters stop at 100 MB to 1 GB unless you pay; here the limit is the same for everyone. Large files are uploaded in small pieces that adapt to your connection, so a dropped connection resumes instead of starting again.

Built for Files That Other Converters Refuse

A 4K video, a long recording, a scanned archive: these are routinely several gigabytes, and most free converters reject them. Docultra accepts 10 GB per file in every category.

A file over 10 MB is not sent in one request. It goes up as a series of small pieces, sized to the real speed of your line and several at a time. If the connection drops, the upload waits, then continues with the piece that was interrupted — the gigabytes already sent are not sent again.

What Happens During a Long Conversion

  • The progress bar starts at 0 % and follows the real number of bytes transferred, with the current speed and the time left.
  • The conversion runs as a background job on the server; the page checks on it, so you can switch tabs.
  • If the server is busy, your file waits in a queue instead of failing.
  • The result streams straight to your disk — it is not loaded into memory first.

Video Keeps Its Resolution and Frame Rate

A 4K 60 fps source gives a 4K 60 fps result. When the source's video and audio streams are allowed in the target container — MKV to MP4, MOV to MP4, MP4 to MKV — they are copied without re-encoding, which takes seconds and loses nothing. Otherwise the video is re-encoded at the source's resolution, frame rate and bitrate.

Your Files

Files that go to the server are sent over an encrypted connection, converted and deleted as soon as the download is ready; nothing is kept, shared or used for anything else.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum file size?

10 GB per file, for every format. There is no account, no paid tier and no daily limit.

What if my connection drops during a big upload?

The upload pauses and resumes by itself when the connection is back. Only the piece that was in transit is sent again.

How long does a large video take?

Upload time depends on your connection. Converting between containers that share codecs (for example MKV to MP4) takes seconds to a few minutes even for multi-gigabyte files, because nothing is re-encoded. Re-encoding a long 4K video can take about as long as the video itself.

Can I convert several large files at once?

Yes. Add them together; they are converted one after another and each result can be downloaded as soon as it is ready.

Is my file stored?

Files that go to the server are sent over an encrypted connection, converted and deleted as soon as the download is ready; nothing is kept, shared or used for anything else.
